MCIU Announces 2015 Scholarship Scheme For Fresh Students

Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, has announced a scholarship scheme for students wishing to obtain qualifications in its faculties of Management and Social Sciences as well as the Natural and Applied Sciences for the 2015 / 2016 academic session.

In a statement, on Monday, the Registrar of the university, Andrew Okwudei, said, “There are 150 scholarships and bursaries available, and every successful applicant can receive up to N1m for his or her tuition at MCIU for the duration of the study.”

According to him, the scholarships are part of the new MCIU Scholars Scholarship programmes that will benefit students entering university in 2015/2016.

He said eligible students must be at least 16 years of age and possess five credit “O” level passes which must include credit in English Language, Mathematics and a science subject in not more than two sittings

Reiterating that the MCIU is an institution dedicated to the alleviation of poverty, Okwudei said, “Students will be selected on the basis of a post-UTME, personal statement and interview.

“A good personal statement must not exceed 500 words and it will be a chance to tell us about yourself, why you think you deserve this scholarship and how you think it will help you serve yourself and society once you graduate.”
