The vice chancellor during the press briefing on the 32nd convocation ceremonies on Sunday had said the decision to introduce part-time programmes followed the scrapping of all sub-degree (Diploma) programmes by the University. “The part-time degree programme provides an opportunity for people whose job schedules do not allow them the liberty of a full-time programme, yet they need the training,” he said. Bello said that the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Prof Julius Okoje, was expected to inaugurate five projects in the University during the ceremony. “A renowned legal luminary, Barrister A. B. Mahmoud is expected to deliver the convocation lecture on Friday April 22”, he said.
