The Department of Media and Communication is pleased to offer a fully-funded studentship for September 2015 entry to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme. This studentship will pay full-time University UK/EU tuition fees for three years and include an annual stipend of Ā£14,057. The successful applicant will also have access to a Research Training Support Grant worth Ā£750 each year to help cover costs associated with their research work.

Studentship is awarded in the Department of Media and Communication. Possible of areas of research include: Gender Politics, Feminist Media Analysis, Media Representations, Mediation of Domestic Labour and Mediation of Femininity.
Scholarship Value

Eligibility:
- ā¢ First class or upper second class undergraduate degree or an equivalent overseas qualification in media/communication/cultural studies or a relevant subject (or show evidence of achieving this by September 2015)
ā¢ It is expected that applicants will also hold a Masters degree in media/communication/cultural studies or a relevant subject (or show evidence of achieving this by September 2015) or have equivalent professional experience.
ā¢ Standard English language requirements
ā¢ Available to suitable UK/EU and International (i.e., outside the EU) applicants ā please note though that the award covers tuition fees at the UK/EU rate only; international applicants (and those not eligible to pay UK/EU tuition fees) must demonstrate at the time of their application that they can fund the difference in tuition fee rates
