2015 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Fluid Mechanics at University of Oslo in Norway

Applications are ongoing for the 2015 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Fluid Mechanics at University of Oslo in Norway,.  Position as Postdoctoral Research Fellow (SKO 1352) available at the Department of Mathematics. 

The Post Doctoral fellowship will be for a period of three (3) years. Starting date no later than 01.05.2015. No one can be appointed for more than one fixed-term period at the same institution. The PD project will be concerned with biomechanical flow and flow induced vibration with focus on experimental investigation on different flow phenomena.

Applicants must have a background within applied mathematics, fluid mechanics, boundary layer – and transitional flows, experimental techniques and signal processing. Experience with Particle Image Velocimetry and Particle tracking velocimetry is a prerequisite. Basic knowledge of microfluidics is considered a bonus. The project objectives will require the candidates to master numerical, theoretical and experimental analyses.

Scholarship value

Pay Grade: 57 – 65 (NOK 482 800 – 559 600 per year, depending on qualifications and seniority). The Postdoctoral fellowship will be for a period of three (3) years. Starting date no later than 01.05.2015. No one can be appointed for more than one fixed-term period at the same institution.

    • The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in top academic positions within their disciplines.

    • A good command of English is required.
