ASUP Strike To End Soon, as HND-BSC Dichotomy Committee Meets
ASUP Strike Update: Strike will be called off soon as HND-BSC Dichotomy Committee Meets: The Special Assistant, to Education minister, Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, the Minister have assured that the strike actions by ASUP and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union will be resolved soon.
The Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, made this known during a meeting of the committee set to bridge the gap between Higher National Diploma, HND and first degree, BSC with other stakeholders.
Those who attended the meeting chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education were representatives of ASUP, National Board for Technical Education, NBTE; National Commission for Colleges of Education, NCCE; National Universities Commission, NUC; Federal Ministry of Labour and the Director, Tertiary Education Department in the Federal Ministry of Education.
Nwakaudu said the committee, which was charged with the responsibility of addressing one of the key demands of ASUP to call off the strike, was already working out the required framework to achieve the goal.
