Abraham Adesanya Poly Reduce Damages Students Will Pay

The management of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic (AAP) has reduced the damages students will pay to N5,000. The management has imposed this on students of the school before they are allowed to resumed for 2015/2016 examination. The students were slammed with this damages as a result of alleged arson committed by some students of the Polytechnic.

The authorities of Abraham Adesanya Poly initially imposed a ten thousand Naira (N10,000) damages on all students. However, interventions from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Nigerian Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) and SUG of AAPoly have seen the damages reduced.

Below is the first notice released by the management of the Polytechnic, informing students and parent that they have to pay N10,000 as damages.

AS A RESULT OF THE ARSON COMMITTED BY SOME STUDENTS ON THE POLYTECHNIC PROPERTIES, THE GOVERNMENT HAS DIRECTED THAT YOUR SON/DAUGHTER/WARD SHOULD PAY THE SUM OF N10,000.00 FOR THE DAMAGES. IT IS ONLY THE PAYMENT OF THIS AMOUNT THAT CAN ENABLE HIM/HER CONTINUE WITH THE SUSPENDED 1ST SEMESTER 2015/2016 EXAMINATION.

UPDATE: AAP Management Slashes Damages Imposed On Students

Below is the new message released by the management;

SEQUEL TO THE APPEAL OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS), NIGERIAN ASSOCIATION OF POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS (NAPS) AND THE EXECUTIVES OF ABRAHAM ADESANYA POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS’ UNION (SUG) CONCERNING THE DAMAGE FEE OF THE SUM OF TEN THOUSAND NAIRA (N10,000.00), THE MANAGEMENT HAS GRACIOUSLY DIRECTED THAT THE FEE BE REDUCED TO FIVE THOUSAND NAIRA (N5,000.00) ONLY.

HOWEVER, EVIDENCE OF PAYMENT WILL ENABLE STUDENTS TO CONTINUE WITH THE SUSPENDED FIRST SEMESTER 2015/2016 EXAMINATIONS. THIS DECISION SUPERSEDES THE EARLIER DIRECTIVE. ALL STUDENTS ARE THEREFORE ENJOINED TO COMPLY IN THEIR OWN INTEREST.

Students are expected to adhere to this payment instruction before coming to resume and complete the suspended first semester examination.
