The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, has officially opened applications into its School of Basic and Remedial Studies, offering a one-year remedial program designed to help students who didn’t meet UTME or O’level entry requirements.
If your JAMB score fell short of the cut-off or you need to make up credits in key O’Level subjects, this program offers a valuable second chance to secure university admission.

Who Is Eligible for AFIT Remedial Admission?
Candidates are eligible to apply for the AFIT Remedial Admission if they:
- Scored below the minimum JAMB cut-off for university admission
- Have incomplete O’Level results (especially missing English or Mathematics)
- Applied to AFIT or any other institution but were not admitted
- Are you willing to undergo one academic session of intensive remedial classes to meet entry qualifications
This opportunity is open to all qualified Nigerian students aiming for admission into AFIT’s degree programs in Engineering, Sciences, or Social Sciences.
Entry Requirements
For Social and Management Sciences:
- Minimum of five (5) credit passes in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB (max two sittings)
- Compulsory subjects: English Language and Mathematics
- At least two credits must be in Arts or Social Science subjects
For Engineering and Sciences:
- Credits must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
- Results accepted from WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB (max two sittings)
Duration of Program
The AFIT remedial program runs for one full academic session, comprising:
- Two semesters
- Regular lectures, internal assessments, and final examinations
What Happens After the Program?
Candidates who:
- Complete the remedial coursework and exams
- Obtain a satisfactory UTME score in the 2026 JAMB
- Meet all admission requirements for their chosen course
…may be considered for AFIT remedial admission at the 100-level, subject to performance and available spaces.
Note: Admission into degree programs is not automatic. Candidates must reapply through JAMB with their new UTME results and meet departmental cut-off marks.

- Present your printed slip along with your SSCE result(s) during registration at the AFIT campus
