ASUU Strike 2013: ASUU May Commence Strike On 1st July, 2013

ASSU Strike 2013? We have information that ASUU might embark on an indefinite strike starting from July 2013. The strike, we understand is still in reaction to failure of the federal government to act on the promise made to them when they made their requests known some years back.

asuu strike 2013

This ASUU strike will definitely disrupt academic activities in many Universities in the country. We cannot afford to have ASUU Strike in 2013, a year and also at a period when ASUP is on strike. This will shatter academic calendars, prolong stay of students in school, let some students miss NYSC service at the right time. ASUU Strike is just not good.

We can only hope that the Federal Government act on time to avert this ASUU strike. That’s if information that just reached us is anything to go by. We shall update you on this “planned ASUU strike” as soon as we confirm the authenticity.

  1. Its no doubt dt ASUU strike wil certainly disrupt academic calendars. But if d requests of ASUU is nt meant by d FG dn d problem wl persist. So d FG shd meet ASSU demands so dt we cn av a strikefree academic sessn in Nig,its possible.

  2. Why can’t this country improve 4 once, all we hear is strike*strike*strike* can’t ASUU Come up with sumtin new 4 once in their lives.

  3. i was initialy supporting the industrial action of the union but now i have come to understand that asuu are just being greedy and self centered, becuase the reason why they are striking now is because of #12500 increament no longer the former issues we all know. Moreover i thougth strike are embacked upon in order to resolve issues but it seems ASUU are embacking on thier own strike to prove useless point and to rest and get paid at the end of the month without working. most of the ASUU stakeholders have thier children all studying abroad and in private universities so it does not concern them at all for the delay they are causing to nigeria students.

    1. Well, I believe they should fight for whatever they see fit. Many political office holders with just SSCE earn more than Professors. This can be really painful. I only believe ASUU could have solved it without strike but with the look of things now, it seems strike is the only language our government understands.
