Bayelsa State Governor Pays N312m For WAEC/NECO Fees

Governor of Bayelsa State, has paid the sum of N321 million for the 2014 WAEC and NECO fees for students writing the exam in the state. In a similar development, Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State has approved N100million for the registration of students of the state for this year’s National Examination Council (NECO) examinations.

In pursuance of his administration’s free and compulsory education policy, the Governor of Bayelsa State, has paid the sum of N321 million for the 2014 WAEC and NECO fees for students sitting for both examinations in the state.

While presenting the cheque to the Commissioner for Education, Salo Adikumo, Governor Dickson revealed that his administration had spent about 10billion Naira since its inception to execute its education policies and various scholarship schemes.

He also issued a warning to the principals and teachers in the state, to desist from extorting monies from their students.
