About the CIPM Annual Essay Competition 2025
The 2025 edition of the CIPM Annual Essay Competition focuses on the theme:
“Employee Mental Health and Wellness: The Role of HR in Creating a Resilient and Supportive Workplace.”
This competition offers students the opportunity to express informed opinions on the growing importance of employee well-being in today’s work environments and how Human Resources (HR) professionals can promote positive change.

Who Can Apply for the CIPM Annual Essay Competition?
To be eligible for the CIPM Annual Essay Competition, you must:
- Be a full-time undergraduate student at a recognized Nigerian university, polytechnic, or college of education
- Not have won this competition in previous years
Essay Submission Guidelines
Your essay must follow these requirements:
- Word Count: Maximum of 3,000 words
- Style Guide: APA (6th Edition) referencing format
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12
- Spacing: Double line spacing
- File Format: Submit only in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Originality: It must be your original work. Plagiarism will result in disqualification.
What to Include in Your Submission
Attach the following items in one Microsoft Word document:
- The essay itself
- A scanned copy of your valid student ID card
- A copy of your admission letter
- A recent passport photograph
