Wednesday, 25th March 2020: Coronavirus Cases in Nigeria.

Five new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 2 in FCT, 2 in Lagos and 1 in Rivers. 3 are returning travellers into Nigeria and 2 are close contacts of a confirmed case. As at 11:25 pm 25th March, there are 51 confirmed cases, 2 discharged, 1 death.

Number of cases as at 11:25 pm; 25th March, 2020:

Two new cases of #COVID19 confirmed in Nigeria: One in Lagos and the other in Osun State. Both cases are returning travellers to Nigeria in the last 7 days. As at 07:00 am 25th March, there are 46 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. Two have been discharged with one death.

Two new cases of #COVID19 confirmed in Nigeria

23rd March, 2020: First Coronavirus Death in Nigeria

The first #COVID19 death in Nigeria has been recorded. The case was a 67 year old male who returned home following medical treatment in UK. He had underlying medical conditions- multiple myeloma and diabetes and was undergoing chemotherapy.

Thursday, February 27, 2020: First Coronavirus Case in Nigeria

The Federal Ministry of Health confirms a coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case in Lagos State, Nigeria. The case, which was confirmed on the 27th of February 2020, is the first case to be reported in Nigeria since the beginning of the outbreak in China in January 2020. 

The case is that of an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria. He returned from Milan, Italy to Lagos, Nigeria on the 25th of February 2020.
