Do You Think The FG-approved Cut-off Marks Came Rather Late?

Yesterday, the Minister of Education, announced the cut-off marks set by FG for admission into Colleges of Education, Polytechnics and other degree-awarding  institutions as 150 and 180 for Federal Universities.

My thought on this is that, this should have come earlier than this, perhaps a week after the release of the UTME result and the worst case, a week before the Change of course and change of institution process closed officially on JAMB Website.

I don’t know why they delayed it until now and the way it is, it serves the purpose of just helping the institutions in screening students for admission rather than helping the JAMB UTME Candidates in making the right choice of institution based on their UTME scores.

JAMB, NUC and the Education Ministry are all government bodies that should be able to work hand-in-hand to come up with a good resolution on this kind of issues on time. This one came too late as far as I’m concerned.
