EFCC Questions FUNNAB VC, Bursar For Alleged Corruption

The Vice Chancellor of The Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, FUNAAB Prof Olusol Oyewole has been questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) based on based on allegations of corruption brought up against him and the Bursar of the Instituition Moses Ilesanmi.

A petition early this week was received by the antigraft body(EFCC) from a group known as ‘Concerned Stakeholders of FUNAAB’, the allegation was based on corruption and betrayal of public trust. The group revealed that the spending of about 200  million Naira for allowances in his four years tenure at the university and yet the Institution is lacking funds for teaching, research and extension services.

The University officials were invited for questioning by the anti-graft commission, at the EFCC Zonal Office located at 16, Revd Oyebode Crescent, Iyaganku, GRA, Ibadan, bringing along with them as request certified true copies of documents including those of capital projects executed in their tenure.

Also, the EFCC is also investigating payments made by the university to the governing council of the institution led by a former senator, Adeseye Ogunlewe, and were also asked to bring records of all payments made to Ogunlewe and other members of the governing council since their appointment.
