First Semester: A Fresh Start
The first semester is a crucial period for both fresh and returning students, marking the beginning of a new academic journey.
- Registration for Fresh Students: Monday, 4th November 2023 – Friday, 19th January 2024
- This period is critical for new students. Ensure to complete all registration formalities within these dates.
- Returning Students Registration: Monday, 4th December 2023
- If you’re a returning student, mark this date for your registration.
- Hostel Allocation: Monday, 4th December 2023
- Accommodation is a vital aspect of university life. Secure your hostel space on this date.
- Commencement of Lectures: Monday, 8th January 2024
- Lectures for both fresh and returning students begin. Be prepared to dive into your coursework.
- Orientation Exercise: Monday, 22nd – Thursday, 25th January 2024
- An essential event for fresh students, the orientation exercise helps you acclimatize to university life.
- Matriculation Ceremony: Wednesday, 31st January 2024

- End of First Semester Lectures: Friday, 19th April 2024

- Revision Week: Monday, 22nd – Friday, 26th April 2024

| – Students must be made to understand that the Calendar is sacrosanct and are therefore strongly advised to key into it for smooth running of the new Session. Senate will not under any circumstance, entertain requests for shift in commencement date scheduled for examinations. – Course registration is not only mandatory but imperative for validation of students’ status – Lectures, especially for returning students, must commence on Monday, 9th December, 2019 – Students should please NOTE that Senate will not entertain any request for re-opening of Portal for registration after the closing date for registration i.e. 8 weeks after resumption. Students who fail to meet the 8 weeks allowed for registration are advised to print out an automated letter of temporary withdrawal from studies for the session (2019/2020) | |
