King Amachree African University is a private university situated in the City of Cotonou, Republic of Benin. The is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following Academic and Non Academic staff positions:

Vacancies at King Amachree African University for 2014 Recruitment

The following are the vacancies available in the ongoing recruitment exercise at the King Amachree African University, Cotonou, Republic of Benin. Apply for position are you are qualified for:

1.) Vice Chancellor

  • Should be a Professor with at least 10 years of administrative proficiency.

2.) Deputy Vice-Chancellor

  • Should be a Professor with at least 5 years of administrative proficiency.

3.) Registrar

  • Should be an administrator with at least a Master’s degree and holds professional qualification in relation to the field of administration and management, with at least 10 years working experience.

4.) Bursar

  • Should possess a Master’s degree in Financial Management, Accounting, Finance, Management, and Business Administration.
  • Must be a holder of any of the following professional qualification. ACCA, ACA, CNA, CPA, ETC. with 5 years working experience.

5.) Librarian

  • Should possess a Master’s degree in Library study and have at least 3 years working experience in related field. Professional qualification is an additional advantage.
  • Applicants must also be extensively Computer literate.

TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES AT THE KING AMACHREE AFRICAN VARSITY

The University also advertises for qualified staff (Lecturers) to cover the following vacant positions:

1. FACULTY OF ARTS

(A) Department of Music

  • Applicants must hold at least a Master’s degree in Music
  • Five (5) years and above working experience as a lecturer or music instructor
  • Professional qualification in Music, PhD degree holders and Professors are additional advantage

(B) Department of Mass Communication (School of Media)

  • Applicants should possess at least a Master’s degree in Mass Communication
  • Must have been in the teaching field / practice for at least a period of 4 years
  • PhD degree holders and Professors are additional advantage

(C) Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies (Cinematography)

  • Applicants must possess a master degree in theater art and film studies or cinematography
  • 5 years working experience and above.
  • PhD degree holders and Professors are added advantage.

(D) Department of English and Language Studies

  • Application is open for holders of Master’s degree and above; with at least 5 years working experience in any of English, French, Kalabari and Arabic languages.

(E) Department of Diplomacy, History and International Relations

  • Application is open for holders of Master’s degree and above.
  • 5 years working experience and above.
  • Professional qualifications, PhD degree holders and professors are additional advantage.

(F) Department of Arabic and Islamic studies

  • Applicants must possess at least a Master’s degree in Arabic or Islamic studies.
  • A good first degree holder may be considered. Applicants with PhD degree is an added advantage.

(G) Department of Fashion and Textiles

  • Applicants must possess at least a master’s degree in fashion.
  • A good first degree with at least 3 years working experience may be considered

2. FACULTY OF ENGINEERING
(A) Department of Automotive Engineering

  • Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in automotive engineering.

(B) Department of Computer Engineering

  • Applicants must possess at least a Master’s degree in computer engineering, with at least 3 years working experience.

(C) Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

  • Applicants must possess at least a Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with at least 3 years working experience.

(D) Department of Mechanical Engineering

  • Applicants must possess at least a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 3 years working experience.

3. FACULTY OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

(A) Department of Information & Communication Technology

  • Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in Information and Communication technology or robotic technology with at least 5 years working experience.

  • Applicants must possess at least a Master’s degree in computer sciences, with 5 years working experience.

  • Applicants must hold at least a Master’s degree in robotic technology with at least 3 years working experience.

4. FACULTY OF BUILDING ENVIRONMENT SCIENCES

(A) Department of Architecture

  • Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in architecture with at least 3 years working experience.

(B) Department of Building and Structural Technology

  • Applicants must possess at least a Master’s degree in structural Technology or related field, with at least 3 years working experience

NON-TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES IN THE UNIVERSITY

1. Vice Chancellor’s Office

(a) Secretary to the Vice Chancellor

  • Holders of OND, HND, BSc in Secretarial and Office Administration are eligible to apply. Applicants must have 5 years working experience as a Secretary and must be computer literate. Professional qualification is an additional advantage.

(b) Clerical Support Staff

  • The clerical support staff of the Vice Chancellor shall possess a minimum of OND or its equivalent and must be computer literate.

2. Deputy Vice Chancellor’s Office
(a) Secretary to the Deputy Vice Chancellor

  • As same as “A” above.

(b) Clerical Support Staff

  • As same as “B” above.

3. Registrar’s Office
(a) Secretary to the Registrar

  • As same as that of the Vice Chancellor

4. Registry
(a) Exams & Records Officer

  • The head of this department shall possess a minimum of first degree in Curriculum Studies with five (5) years working experience.
  • Professional qualification shall be an added advantage.

(b) Council Officer

  • Applicant should possess a minimum of first degree in Office Administration, Secretarial Studies or any related discipline with five (5) years working experience.
  • Professional qualification shall be an added advantage.

(c) Admission Officer

  • Applicant must possess at least a first degree in Public Administration and/or related field with five (5) years working experience.
  • Applicants with proficiency in English and French will be an additional advantage.

(d) Establishment Officer

  • Applicant must possess at least a first degree in Public Administration, Management, Office Administration or any related field.
  • Holders of professional qualification shall be an added advantage.

(e) Senate Officer

  • Applicant must possess at least a first degree from a reputable University in Office Administration, Secretarial Administration, Public Administration or any related field with at least five (5) years of working experience.
  • Professional qualification is an added advantage.

5. Bursary Department
(a) Account Officers

  • Applicants must possess at least a first degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management and any other related field. He/she must have three (3) years working experience.
  • Professional qualification will be an additional advantage

(b) Clerical Officers
Applicants must possess an OND in Accounting or any related field.

6. Technical Department
(a) The Director of Works

  • Applicant must possess at least Bachelor of Engineering, and shall be COREN and NSE registered; Masters in Engineering or a PhD degree shall be an added advantage.

(b) Technicians

  • All applicants must possess an OND or HND in the following fields:
  • Experience technicians could be considered.
