LASPOTECH To Graduate 263 Distinctions, Honour Monarchs At 24th Convocation

A total of 8,519 graduands would be graduating from the Lagos State Polytechnic LASPOTECH 24th Convocation ceremonies coming up on Thursday 7th April, 2016. This was made known by Rector, Dr. Samuel Oluyinka Sogunro at the institution’s pre-convocation press conference.

Sogunro who disclosed the Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode will grace the ceremony, where these distinguished Nigerians would be honoured, added that 71 Higher National Diploma, HND, full time students ‎made Distinction, just as 71 National Diploma, ND, full time students made Distinction. The Rector added: “Thirty-one HND students from the School of part time had ‎Distinction, while 90 ND students graduated with distinction. On the whole, a total of 263 will graduate on Thursday with distinction.”

The trio, Ooni of Ife, Ojaja second, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi and former Group Managing Director, Chams Plc, Engr. Ademola Benjamin Aladekomo will on Thursday, April 7, 2016, be conferred with Fellowship Award, at the Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTECH, Ikorodu, Lagos. Installation ceremony of Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi 51th Ooni of Ife Installation ceremony of Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi 51st Ooni of Ife.  The Rector further added “The choice of these royal fathers were due to the role of peace making they play in the society.” Sogunro specifically pointed out the virtue of humility in the Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi, adding that since he was crowned, he never prides himself as a paramount ruler. “The Ooni has exemplified true leadership quality as he continues to play a mediating role among the young and old in the society. He is the epitome of a true leader, a society should seek to have,” he said.
