Latest on ASUP Strike : Nigeria Polytechnics Strike Update

What is the update on ASUP Strike? Please, send me ASUP Strike News for June 2013? When is ASUP calling off Strike? What’s the Update of ASUP discussion with Federal Government?

These are some of the questions we have been getting from many of our readers who are probably students of polytechnics in Nigeria or have interest in the strike. Some of them even accused us that we have not given the ASUP strike enough coverage like we usually do if it were ASUU (Academic Staff Union of Universities).

What we can only tell you is the last we heard about the strike which came from ASUP President, Mr Chibuzor Asumogba. This aricle was extracted from PunchNG and it was titled “ASUP strike: We are making progress in discussion with FG– Asumogba”

READ THE FULL GIST:

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), on Wednesday said that it was making progress in discussions with the Federal Government  over  its ongoing indefinite strike.

Mr Chibuzor Asumogba, ASUP President, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview in Lagos that when to suspend the strike would, however, depend on the final outcome of the talks.

“Our members are holding forth; we are making progress with our discussion with the Federal Government and the talks still continue”.
