Here is How To Apply for NOA 2nd National Youth Essay Competition

RULES FOR CONTESTANTS

1. Topic“My Nigeria; What It Means To Me”

2. Aim:

The aim of this competition is to promote in Nigerian youths the spirit of patriotism, healthy competition, intellectualism and creativity, while reassuring them that their input and contribution in nation building is appreciated.

3. Eligibility

This contest is open to all Nigerian youths not above 30years. However, it is not open to employed young people, even if they are within the age bracket.

4. Instructions for NOA Essay Contestants

All entries must conform to the rules outlined below:

i. The entry must be an original perception on the above topic, showing clarity of thought and innovation, while providing practical suggestions, where necessary.

ii. The essay must have four parts:

(a) Title Page
(b) Body of work (introduction, body and conclusion)
(e) Bibliography (where necessary)
(d) Contestant’s Bio-data

iii. The contestant’s bio-data must include the contestant’s name, date of birth, evidence of age, full mailing address, occupation, educational qualification, telephone number and e-mail address (where available).

iv. The title page, bibliography (where necessary) and contestant’s bio-data must each be listed on a separate page and no reference to the contestant’s name or information should be part of the body of the work.

v. Using a font size of 14 (Times New Roman), entries must be double-spaced.

vi. The essay which must have a minimum of 800 words must not exceed 1,000 words (excluding the title page, footnotes and bio-data).

vii. Entries will be judged based on the following:

* Accuracy of Information
* Clarity of thought
* Organization
* Grammar and spelling
* Documentation

5. Submission of Entries

i. Entry closes at 4:00 pm on Monday, September 23, 2013.

ii. All entries must be submitted online via the Agency’s email address below or by hand to the Office of the Director, Planning, Research & Statistics, (PRS) Room 330, National Orientation Agency, Headquarters, Block ‘B’ Federal, Secretariat Complex, Area 1, Garki – Abuja: [email protected]

iii. Essays that do not conform to the rules shall be disqualified.

6. Awards
The following prizes are to be won in the National Orientation Agency 2013 Essay Competition:

First Prize
N250,000 cash + Certificate of Participation

Second Prize
N200,000 cash + Certificate of Participation

Third Prize
N 150,000 cash + Certificate of Participation

Seven (7) Consolation Prizes
N50,000 each + Certificate of Participation

Twenty (20) Consolation Prizes
N 10,000 each + Certificate of Participation

  1. nice post on the National Youth Essay Competition…….but seriously was downcasted when i went down to the date of submission and found dt it has already passed…you posted it after the deadline date……pls try harder for us not to make same mistake………..kudos and God’s strength

    1. Very sorry about that. I think there was an error in the scheduled date. It ought to have been posted since 24th August.
