It contains everything from portal access to payment, offline setup, document submission, fees, and essential deadlines. Carefully follow each section to ensure proper registration of your final-year students.

About NECO SSCE Internal Registration 2025

The 2025 NECO SSCE Internal Examination is strictly for final-year students in secondary schools only. Private candidates are not allowed. However, both Nigerian and overseas-based school candidates can register through approved institutions.

School Portal Access & Login Setup

Existing Schools:

  • Use your current login credentials.
  • If login fails, use “Forgot Password” or the “Dispute Login” option.

New Schools:

  • Claim your portal access at the NECO SSCE portal.
  • Use a valid official school email and phone number.
  • Avoid using personal or cyber café emails.
  • A default password will be sent to the school’s email to enable login.

Note: No part of the registration process can begin without setting up access to the portal.

Offline Registration Procedure

  1. Remove old NECO registration apps from your system.
  2. Download the 2025 offline registration app from the NECO portal.
  3. Install and use it to fill out each student’s bio-data and upload their school uniform and passport photograph.
  4. Follow the user manual on the portal for step-by-step guidance.
  5. Complete offline registration for all students before uploading begins.
  6. Uploads can only be made after payment is verified.

School Activation Requirements

Before uploading student records, schools must be activated by the State Coordinator. Submit the following documents:

  • Validation list signed by each student
  • Signed photocards (printed from the portal)
  • Entry schedule approved by the State Ministry of Education
  • Subject analysis

Schools cannot upload or proceed without this activation.

NECO SSCE Internal Registration Payment Instructions via Remita

  • All payments are made through the NECO TSA (Remita) system.
  • Avoid bank transfers or third-party agents.

Accepted payment methods:

  • Debit card
  • USSD
  • Wallet
  • Bank branch
  • Internet banking
  • eNaira

After payment:

  1. Obtain your Remita e-receipt.
  2. Go to the transaction page on the NECO portal.
  3. Click “Verify Bank Payment”.
  4. Enter the 12-digit RRR and click “Verify.”

Student Upload:

  • After verification, the system determines how many student uploads your payment covers.
  • Tick names or use “Check All” to select them.
  • Partial (bit-by-bit) payment is allowed but start with at least 20 students to avoid the ₦70,000 unviable center fee.

Documents to Submit to NECO State Office:

  • RRR e-receipts
  • Payment Summary
  • Final validation list (with registration numbers) signed by the school head

Note: Payments made after deadlines using expired RRRs will be invalid. No refunds.

Photocard Requirement for Students

  • Every registered student must have a final photo card with their registration number.
  • This is mandatory for identification throughout the exam.

  • If this minimum is not met, a ₦70,000 unviable center fee is charged.

  • E-Photo Album: Contains 171 students per pair. Cost: ₦2,700.
  • NECO Syllabus: ₦2,000 per copy. Schools should retain at least four copies.
  • Four-Figure Table: Mandatory for each student. ₦500 per copy.
