New Education Minister: President Names Ibrahim Shekarau

Ibrahim Shekarau has been named the new Minister of Education by President Goodluck Jonathan. The new Education Minister, is a former Kano State governor, who decamped from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. He now has a ministerial portfolio.

President Goodluck Jonathan also sworn in other four new ministers, who were cleared by the National Assembly.

President Jonathan swears in Ibrahim Shekarau as new Minister for Education:

Shortly after swearing them in, the President announced their portfolio and also announced a minor rearrangement in the current cabinet. The President announced Mr. Shekarau as the new Education Minister; Mr. Adeyeye was named Minister of State for Works; Mr. Oru, Minister of Niger Delta; and Mr. Bulama, Minister of Science and Technology.
