Information reaching NGScholars and also making the rounds in the electronic media has it that a magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State of Nigeria on the 28th of February, discharged 7 out of the 18 suspects charged with the killing of 4 students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Choba, Rivers State, following the advice of the Director for Public Prosecution DPP.

The trial Chief Magistrate discharged the four after reading the advice dated 15th of january 2012 before the court. He said the seven suspect were arrested and charged to court based on suspicion.

The advice also indicted Alhaji Hassan Walewa and 10 other for negligencein preventing and active participation in the genocide.

We just hope justice is done in this case and the perpetrators of this evil act are brought to book.
