Choose the correct option for the underlined phrases.

Question 1 : Mary just returned from Mauritius. She had a whale of a time there.

Options: (a) She spent a lot of time in Mauritius. (b) She had an enjoyable time in Mauritius. (c) She enjoyed witnessing a whale in Mauritius. (d) She managed to learn a lot about whales in Mauritius.

Question 2 : Following word is followed by four words/phrases. One of them is opposite in meaning. Choose that as your correct option.

Novice

Options: (a) Experienced (b) Usual (c) Beginner (d) Old

Question 3 : A takes twice as much time as B or thrice as much time as C to finish a piece of work. Working together, they can finish the same work in 2 days. In how many days can B do the same work alone?

Options: (a) 4 Days (b) 6 Days (c) 8 Days (d) 12 Days

Question 4 : following question consists of five figures marked A, B, C, D, and E called the problem figures. Identify the figure, from the answer figures (1-5), that logically follows the problem figure.

Question 7 : There are two statements followed by two conclusions. Consider the two statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. Read the conclusions and then decide which of these logically follows the two given statements.

Statements:

• All chairs are tables.

• All bulbs are tables.

Conclusions:

• Some bulbs are candles.

• No bulb is candle.

Options: (a) Only conclusion I follows (b) Only conclusion II follows (c) Either conclusion I or II follows (d) Neither I nor II follows

Question 8 : In a coded language, if ‘$’ means divide, ‘*’ means multiply, ‘#’ means plus, and ‘@’ means minus, then what is the value of 72$4@6*2#3?
