Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for the advertised courses/programmes of the NKSTCHT Mkar. NKST College of Health Technology Admission Requirements For 2016/2017 Academic Session

Below are the programmes available at NKST College of Health Technology Mkar. They are the registrable courses for the 20116/17 academic session. Also included are the different programmes (HND, Pre-ND, ND, etc.), the duration of each one and the requirements.

NKSTCHT Mkar Admission 2016/2017

Community Health Department

(A) Higher National Diploma (HND) in Community Health (Duration: 4 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission must have passed National Diploma in Community Health, with at least Lower Credit, in addition, a minimum of 5 credits passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE) at not more than two sittings. These credit passes must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, two credits pass from Chemistry, Physics, and Food & Nutrition.

(B) Pre-HND in Community Health (Abridgement) (Duration: 6 Months)

Entry Qualification: Candidate wishing to be admitted into Pre-HND Community Health must have passed National Examination for CHEW or Diploma in Community Health at least with a Lower Credit. Candidate awaiting result need not apply.

(C) Direct-HND in Community Health (DHND) (Duration: 10 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidate seeking admission into Direct Higher National Diploma in Community Health must have 5 credits passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE O/L) at not more than two sittings. Three of the credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science; Two credit pass from Chemistry, Physics or Geography.

(D) National Diploma in Community Health (Duration: 6 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidate seeking admission into National Diploma in Community Health must have 5 credits passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE O/L) at not more than two sittings. Three of the credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science; Two credit passes from Chemistry, Physics or Geography.

(E) Diploma in Community Health (CHEW) – (Duration: 6 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidate seeking admission into Diploma in Community Health (CHEW) must possess the same as in 1 (D) above. (F) Junior Community Health

Extension Workers (JCHEW) – (Duration: 4 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into Junior Community Health Extension Workers must possess at least 5 passes at SSCE at not more than 2 sittings. Three (3) of the passes must include Mathematics, English Language, Biology or Health Science and two (2) of the passes from any other subjects.

Pharmacy Technician Department

(A) Pharmacy Technician – (Duration: 6 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into Pharmacy Technician Training Programme must have a minimum of 5 credit passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE). Other equivalents are not accepted. The credit passes must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at not more than two sittings. Successful grandaunts will be awarded a Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate which will qualify them to read Pharmacy in the University at 200 level in accordance with University guidelines for their degree programme in Pharmacy.

Health Information Management Department (HIM)

(A) National Diploma in Health Information Management – (Duration: 6 Semester Programme)

Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into National Diploma in Health Information Management must possess a minimum of five (5) credits passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE O/L). The credit passes must include: Mathematics, English Language, Biology or Health Science, Physics or Chemistry and one subject from Economics, Geography, Religious Knowledge or Nigerian Language at not more than (2) sittings.

(B) Professional Diploma or HIM Technician in Health Information Management – (Duration: 6 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into Professional Diploma or HIM Technician in Health Information Management must have possess a minimum of five (5) credit at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE O/L) at not more than two (2) sitting. The credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Physics and  Chemistry.

(C) National Diploma in Health Information Management (Part-Time) – (Duration: 6 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Same as in 3(A) above.

(D) Professional Diploma or HIM Technician in Health Information Management (Part-Time) – (Duration: 6 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Same as in 3(B) above.

Dental Health Department

(A)  Dental Health Technician– (Duration: 6 Blocks)

Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into Dental Health Technician must have four (4) credit passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE O/L) at not more than two sitting. The credit passes must be from the following subject: English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science and Chemistry.

Environmental Health Department

(A) Higher National Diploma in Environmental Health (HND)-(Duration: 4 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into Higher National Diploma in Environmental Health must have a National Diploma in Environmental Health with a minimum of Lower Credit and 5 credits passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE O/L) at not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

(B) Environmental Health Technology (Duration: 8 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into Environmental Health Technology Course must have a minimum of 5 credits passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or GCE O/L) at not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

(C) Environmental Health Technician (EVT) – (Duration: 6 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into Environmental Health Technician must have three (3) credits passes which must include: English Language, Biology or Health Science; and Chemistry or Geography, Physics, Mathematics; at pass level is accepted.

(D) Environmental Health Assistant (EHA) – (Duration: 4 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into Environmental Health Assistant must have a minimum of five (5) passes in SSCE or GCE ordinary level at not more than two (2) sittings, which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING TECHNOLOGY (A) X-Ray Technician – (Duration: 6 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidate seeking admission into X-Ray Technician course must possess a minimum of three credits and two passes at not more than two sittings. The Credit and passes must include: English Language, Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

Department of Physiotherapy Assistant

(A) National Diploma in Physiotherapy Assistant – (Duration: 6 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidate seeking admission into National Diploma in Physiotherapy course must possess a minimum of five credits at not more than two sittings. The Credit and passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology

(A) National Diploma in Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology– (Duration: 6 Semesters)

Entry Qualification: Candidate seeking admission into National Diploma in Prosthetic and Orthotics course must possess a minimum of five credits at  (GCE, WASCE or NECO) at not more than two sittings. The Credit and passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Chemistry and Physics.

Department of Remedial Studies

(A) Remedial Studies– (Duration: 9 Months Programme)

Entry Qualification: Candidate seeking admission into NKST College of Health Technology Mkar through Remedial Programme  must have attempted GCE, WASCE and NECO or its equivalent. Admission in NKST College of Health Technology Mkar is automatic provided a student successfully completes the remedial programme as follows: 1.     Obtained a minimum of 2.0 CGPA from subjects undertook at the school.

2. Remedied all necessary O-Level deficiencies All successfully admitted and registered students will be placed into one of the Eight (8) Departments .

Each student is given a course by considering his/her intended feature carrier and the O-Level credits obtained. Departments are: – Community Health, Pharmacy Technician, Health Information Management, Environmental Health, Physiotherapy, Prosthetic and Orthotics, Dental Health and Diagnostic Imaging Technology.

Note: English Language, Biology and General Mathematics are compulsory for all students.

How To Apply For NKST College of Health Technology Admission 2016/2017

Below is the procedure to follow to apply for 2016/2017 NKST CHT Mkar admission.

1. Deposit an amount corresponding to the cost of form for the course of your choice  into any of the College Accounts and obtain a valid teller.

2. Logon to portal.nkstchtmkar.org

3. Click on online application link

4. Login with appropriate details (i.e Pin Number & Registration Number on the e-ticket if you have an e-ticket before) otherwise click on “Start Application Now” to proceed

5. Fill the pre application form using the details on the valid teller and submit

6. print the e-ticket which contains your registration number and a pin number

7. Visit portal.nkstchtmkar.org

8. Click on online application link again

9. Login using the information on your e-ticket

10. Fill the  application form, upload your picture, add your educational information and submit.

11. Print your application form upon successful submission

12. Bring the application form along with you on the date of aptitude test

13. You can edit your application afterwards by login to the portal

The closing date for sales of admission forms for the NKST CHT Mkar 2016/17 admission is 15th April, 2016

NKST CHT Mkar Aptitude Test, Screening, Interview Dates and Fees – 2016/2017

Aptitude Test for NKST College of Health Technology admission had been schedule for 22nd April, 2016.  Screening exercise/Interview will be conducted between 2nd and 6th May, 2016.

Aptitude Test fee is N3,000 while Interview fee is N3,000.
