NNPC National Quiz Competition 2017 Application Form

Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) National Quiz Competition 2017 Application Form is out. Interested schools can now follow the instructions in this post to apply.

Applications are invited for entries into the 2017 edition of NNPC National Quiz Competition, which is the 16th edition of the competition. The quiz competition was inaugurated in 2000 and limited to the Niger Delta level, but went national in 2001.

Objectives of the Competition:

• To implement a core element of NNPC Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) package.
• To promote Science education in the country.
• To encourage students in the study of Science and Technology related subjects,
• To prepare students for promotional and qualifying examinations.
• To build friendship amongst the participating students.
• To develop students competitive spirit.
• To break down long-held stereotypes and engendering a better sense of National being in participating students, through the cross-cultural interactions that the contest offers.
• To provide a platform for enlightening the students and the general public on the activities of NNPC.

Date of Competition

Competition commences 15th July, 2017.

Participation Scope

4 – stage competition from Preliminary to National Finals:

• Grassroots level – 774 Local Government Areas of the country.
• State level – 36 States plus the Federal Capital Territory.
• Zonal level – 6 Ceo-political Zones.
• National level – Grand Finale at NNPG Corporate HQ, Abuja.

Process Integrity

• Questions would be set by recognized and reputable national/regional examination body
• Subject experts will be present to resolve any contentious answer.
• Answers and results will be publicly and progressively recorded from beginning to the end of each stage of the competition.
• Electronic score boards are to be deployed.

Prize

• Scholarship to University Level
• One-off Educational Cash Grant

How to Apply for the NNPC National Quiz Competition 2017

Interested schools should visit their respective Local Government Area and register under the Local Government Education Department to be able to participate in the competition.
