OAU Notice to Graduands on 44th Convocation Ceremony

Following the publication of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU 44th Convocation Ceremony Programme of Events, the authorities of the institution released some important information to all Graduands of the institution as regards the coming event.

Graduands are to collect their academic robes, Order of Proceedings and two Guest cards from their respective Faculty/College Secretaries between 8.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on the day preceding the conferment of degrees in their disciplines, on the presentation of receipts showing payment and submitting a photocopy of same, as indicated below:

1. Diploma
All Diploma graduands are required to pay Convocation charges of ten thousand naira (N10,000.00) inclusive of Obafemi Awolowo University Alumni/Advancement levy.

2. First Degrees and Diplomas
All graduands are required to pay Convocation charges of fifteen thousand naira (N15,000.00) inclusive of Obafemi Awolowo University Alumni/Advancement levy.

3. Higher Degrees
All graduands are required to pay Convocation charges of twenty thousand naira (N20,000.00) inclusive of Obafemi Awolowo University Alumni/Advancement levy.

B. Registration and Payment Details:
Graduating Students are to visit the University website: eportal.oauife.edu.ng to register and make payment. Remember to print out a receipt for any payment made.

C. Graduands should assemble at the Faculty of Science (White House) foyer on their respective convocation day not later than 8.00 a.m. They must be fully robed and seated in the places allocated to them at the Convocation venue not later than 30 minutes before the commencement of the programme.

NOBODY, INCLUDING GRADUANDS AND THEIR PARENTS/GUARDIANS, WILL BE ADMITTED INTO THE HALL AFTER THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE PROGRAMME

D. Graduands are required to return their academic robes to their respective Faculty Secretaries not later than 4.00 p.m. of the date of their convocation. Failure to return the gown on the prescribed date and time shall attract a fine of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) per day in the first instance and subsequently Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00) per day of default.

E. Commercial Photographers/Video Operators will be charged five thousand naira (N5,000.00) for the period. All those interested in functioning as Photographers/Video Operators are required to make payment into the University Remita account not later than 6th December, 2019. The receipts should be presented to the Public Relations Officer who will issue a certificate of accreditation to each operator.

F. Each car or bus coming into the campus will pay five hundred naira (N500.00) per day during the period of Convocation and will be given a tally which must be returned when exiting the Campus. Misplaced tallies will attract a fine. Parking of vehicles will be at designated sites as indiscriminate parking will attract a fine.

All graduands are advised to note and adhere to the dates and time scheduled for the ceremonies.

Graduands should note that movement into, and out of, the hall during the ceremony, or before the end of the ceremony, will not be allowed.

Please note that graduands will be required to show evidence of payment of the Convocation charges when collecting their certificates. We congratulate all graduands and wish them journey mercies to and from Ile-Ife.
