Redeemer’s University Re-appoints Professor Adeyewa As Vice-Chancellor

Redeemer’s University Re-appoints Professor Adeyewa As Vice-Chancellor for a second time in a row.

It will be recalled that Professor Adeyewa  assumed  office on October 1, 2011 as the second substantive Vice-Chancellor of the institution. For the past four years, he has built on the achievements of his predecessor by working with different stakeholders within and outside the university to actualize the vision and aspirations of  the Redeemer’s University.

At its 43rd statutory meeting held recently,  the Governing Council  of Redeemer’s University has announced  the renewal of the appointment of Professor Z. Debo Adeyewa as the institution’s Vice-Chancellor by its Board of Trustees.
According to the statement from  the Board of Trustees, he has been  re-appointed for another term.

Under his leadership, the university has  made some giant strides, including relocation to its permanent site and   the winning of  the World Bank-funded,  best-rated African  Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases  in Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, the university received  other numerous awards both  globally and  locally.
The university now  prides itself as having the state-of-the-art e-learning system, high speed  broadband, two-bedded room all en-suite student hostels, well-stocked  technologically driven library, brand visibility, and overall deployment of information  technology to drive the university system.
Speaking on  his re-appointment, the Governing Council  noted with delight, the achievements of the University since he was appointed  and  looked  forward to better days ahead  as he steers the affairs of the University to greater heights. During an interview he had this to say; “We want to see our university having a major impact in creating solutions for the formidable challenges our nation in the health sector, in science, in engineering. We want to be in the forefront, the cutting edge of science. We also want to be the best in training godly students; because if you train an engineer and he is the best in the world and he has a character defect, then he becomes the worst enemy of the nation, because he combines his technical knowhow to rob banks and to cheat and to write evil programmes. So, we want to train the best graduates and be the university that creates solutions.”
