Special Assistant to Sokoto Governor on Information, Communications and Technology (ICT), Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi, disclosed this while commenting on the five-day working visit of Governor Aliyu Wamakko to the Republic of Sudan.

He said Wamakko had met with the leaderships of the institutions and discussed on the possibility of increasing the quota of Sokoto students admissible into the institutions and lecturers exchange programmes.

Abdullahi said Wamakko has invited the management of both institutions to Sokoto to explore ways to partner with Sokoto for the progress of the state university.

He also disclosed plans by the state government to sponsor female students from the state to study at the All-Women University in the Republic of Sudan.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Mr Qassim Yousif, who received the governor, said Nigeria has more than 100 students in the institution studying various disciplines including medicine.
