We got a request from one of our readers to help get information regarding UNICAL Direct Entry Requirements for Medicine. We have done what is required and we have information that there is no UNICAL Direct Entry for all Basic Medical Science Courses.
UNICAL does not accept DE candidates into the Basic Medical Sciences Programmes.
However, candidates seeking admission to obtain a BSc, MSc and PhD in the medical sciences Programmes can read on.
UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR, UNICAL BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCE (MEDICINE) COURSES
The faculty of Basic Medical Sciences of UNICAL comprises of the following departments:
Department of Biochemistry
Department of Human Anatomy
Department of Pharmacology
Department of Physiology
UNICAL Basic Medical Sciences (Medicine) Admission Requirements
Candidates wishing to obtain a B.Sc. degree in any of the programmes above must possess Five (5) ‘O’ Level credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in not more than two sittings. There is no direct entry.
Admission Requirement for the Masters degree takes into consideration candidates with first degrees with first or second class honours of the University of Calabar with a cumulative of 2.75 on 4 grading point system or 3.44 on 5 grading point or who hold an equivalent degree from another university or any equivalent qualification to be determined by the Head of Department through the guidance of the Faculty Board.
Ph.D candidates shall be required to hold a good Masters degree of the University of Calabar or any other approved university.
