The University of Ilorin said it expelled no fewer than 51 students for various academic offences in the last two years.

Akogun said that their offences ranged from being members of secret cults to bribing lecturers to upgrade their scores after examinations.

He said that others include examination malpractice, theft and Internet fraud, adding that the affected students were from various faculties of the institution.

He said those who were not expelled were either warned or exonerated or rusticated for a semester.

Akogun said “the university authority has over the years maintained zero tolerance for acts of indiscipline. (NAN)
