Two students of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) have emerged winners of the 2014 edition of CIPM essay competition.  Abdulazeez Muhammad Bashir, a 200 Level student of the Department of Combined Law,  and a 400L student of History and International Relations, Abdulkareem Abdulhakeem Ibraheem, emerged winners at the 2014 edition of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Essay Competition, clinching the first and second prizes respectively.

UNILORIN CIPM Essay Competition

The annual competition, which received over 200 entries from undergraduates in various Nigerian tertiary educational institutions, took place between October 14 and 16, 2014 during  the 46th CIPM Annual Conference at the International Conference Centre, Garki, Abuja. The topic of the essay was, “Expanding Employment Opportunities for Nigerian Youths: The Self-Employment Imperative.”

From the entries received, seven finalists were shortlisted, which included three students from the University of Ilorin.

The first prize winner (Abdulazeez), went home with N125, 000 while the second prize winner (AbdulKareem), was given N100, 000. The duo also got a Samsung Galaxy Tab each.

It would be recalled that two students from the University, Alao Idris and Muhammed Abdullahi Tosin, also won prizes at previous essay competitions organised by the CIPM last year.

Congratulations to these students and the University of Ilorin as a whole.
