On the other hand, Alpha Morgan will build three blocks hostel facility of 300 rooms, two for female students and one for postgraduate students.

While the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the IBFC project was signed last Thursday (April 11, 2013), that of Alpha Morgan is expected to be signed within the next seven days. The Vice-Chancellor signed the papers on behalf of the University while Mr. Garba signed on behalf of his company.

Briefing the University management shortly after the signing of the MoU, the IBFC Chief Executive said the company had agreed to build 1375 rooms, under the terms of Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT).

Mr. Garba said that work would commence at the site in three weeks time, adding that the company would provide independent power supply, independent water supply and internet facilities for use by students accommodated in the hostels.

He also disclosed that the hostels would be equipped with relaxation centre, common room, gymnasium and kiosks.

The Director General explained further that funds would be sufficiently provided to ensure a timely completion of the project, stating that his company would want to give the students a sense of belonging and comfort as they engage in their academic pursuit.

Also briefing the University management, the Managing Director of Alpha Morgan, Mr. Ade Buraimo, said that funds for its planned three blocks of 300 rooms had already been set aside and assured that work would begin on their site within 60 days from the day the MoU is signed.

Mr. Buraimo disclosed that a certain percentage of the revenue realised from the investment would go to the motherless children while stressing that the company is planning to be the best hostel provider in the University.
