How To Upgrade / Convert 3rd Class, Pass & HND to Top Degree

Did you know you could upgrade/convert your 3rd class, Pass and HND to top Bachelor’s Degree (BA and BSc)? Well, you can! Upgrading your third class, pass degrees and HND is now possible in Nigeria. This is courtesy of various programmes being instituted by Nigerian universities.

Many graduated have the need to remedy their results of they were unable to standout academically during their first degree due to one challenge or the other. As a result of this, these programmes usually called top-up programmes, are created for Nigerian University and Polytechnic graduates who have such needs.

Objectives of Top-Up Programmes (The Whys)

The Objectives of the Top-Up (Degree and HND Conversion) Programme are to:

  • Firstly to provide suitable academic programmes that would facilitate conversion from Higher National Diploma (HND) to university degree certification.
  • Secondly, to make available contents and Instructions that would upgrade the quality of university degrees from Third Class end/or Pass.
  • Facilitate university education that will lead to change of degree/career, where necessary.
  • Lastly, bring an academic level ground for degree inequality.

Who Can/Should Convert/Upgrade their HND or University Degrees?

  • University graduates with Pass or Third Class degrees
  • HND graduates desirable of University first degree. Graduates with Interest In career change (e.g. graduate of Chemistry wishing to change career to Accounting).

Of course, this programme works differently depending on the institution. Therefore, you should check the details of the programme for each school and decide which one is best for you.
