WAEC Announce Dr Amos Dagust As New Head

The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has announced the appointment of Dr. Amos Dagust as the new head of the national office.

Dr Amos Dagust was the deputy register of the WAEC national office until his appointment as the head.

This announcement was made byMrs Moyosola Adesina, Acting Head of Public Affairs, WAEC to NAN on Monday in Lagos.

Adjust appointment came as a result of the expiration of the tenure of former head of the national office Mr Patrick Areghan. His tenure which started in March 2020 came to an end on the 1st of October, 2023.

Adesina said Dangut joined the council in 1998 as an Assistant Registrar (AR) II and rose to become a Deputy Registrar in April 2018.

“He served as an Assistant Registrar/Subject Officer of Examinations Security and Deputy to the branch Controller, Uyo office, between January.

2005 and January 2008, Senior Assistant Registrar/Head of Examinations Security and Deputy to the branch Controller, Bauchi office between January 2008 to December 2011.

“Dangut was also Senior Assistant Registrar/Branch Controller of the Yola office between December 2011 to January 2019 and Deputy Registrar/Controller of the Post Examinations Department between January 2019 and October 2020.

“He was also the Deputy Registrar/Zonal Coordinator, Ikeja Zonal Office,” she said.

Adesina also stated that Dangut is an astute scholar with various educational publications in international and national journals, had also presented numerous keynotes and other papers at international and national conferences/fora.

Hopefully, he would use his experience and vast knowledge to advance the growth of the education system in the country.
