Will ASUU Strike Affect Post-UTME Screening? – View

Some readers have been asking, Will August 2017 ASUU Strike affect Post-UTME screening? We cannot give a stonewall answer to this because we are not the management of any institution. We are just here to provide information released schools to you.

For example, the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU has said that the school will not be joining the ongoing ASUU Strike. Therefore, we expect the Post-UTME registration and screening to take place whenever the school is ready.

Is ASUU Strike Going To Affect Post-UTME Screening?

Back to the question of if ASUU Strike will Affect Post-UTME screening, our view is that it can be done such that it does not affect it. Post-UTME screening is usually conducted by the Admission Office and maybe in collaboration with the ICT/Computer Center of a school in the case of Computer-based tests. The computer outputs the result and this can be collated by the admission office.

ASUU Strike might however, affect Post-UTME screening in schools where oral interviews are carried out. This is so because it might require the services of lecturers who are part of the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU).

So, we cannot categorically tell you if ASUU Strike Affect Post-UTME in the school you have chosen or not. Only the Ogas at the top (the Schools’ Management) can tell us that but one thing is certain, the strike will affect admission screening in some Universities.
