ABU Distance Learning Undergraduate Programmes Admission Requirements
NOTE:
- If you do not have credits in Mathematics, English or any other required course for your programme of choice, you will be required to sign an undertaking stating that before graduation you will provide results with credit in the deficient subjects to fulfill your admission requirements.
- Note that all results will be verified during the screening exercise.
B.Sc Business Administration
Our NUC Accredited Bachelor of Science in Business Administration will provide students with a breadth of knowledge and skills needed for managing business operations. These skills include forecasting demand, planning inventory, purchasing services, conducting skillful negotiations, building strategies for the future and managing people, finances and risk.
Non-Direct Entry
- Any 5 O’Level credits in no more than 2 sittings
Direct Entry:
- Satisfy the O’Level requirements and have 2 A’Level passes at the IJMB Examination or Cambridge Moderated Schools or Basic Studies Terminal Examination.
- Satisfy O’Level requirements and have an A.B.U. Diploma with Merit or Lower Credit in Insurance, Accounting or Banking and Finance.
- Satisfy the O’Level requirements and have another BSc irrespective of the course of study and grade.
- Satisfy the O’Level requirements and have a professional certification such as ICAN, NIM, CITN, CIPM, CIBN, ACA etc.
- Masters degree holders in related courses will be admitted into 300 Level while others will be admitted into 200 Level.
- OND Holders in related courses will be admitted into 200 Level while others will be admitted into 100 Level
- HND Holders in related courses will be admitted into 300 Level while others will be admitted into 200 Level
Duration:
- Minimum of four and maximum of six academic sessions for UTME candidates.
- Minimum of three and maximum of five academic sessions for Direct Entry candidates.
B.Sc Economics
As an Economics student, you’ll explore everything from pricing strategy and cost-benefit analysis to the impact of environmental policy and international exchange rates. in addition, you’ll learn to think analytically and quantitatively about a variety of economic and financial issues. Our focused and flexible NUC Accredited programme will deliver the knowledge and skills you need to advance your career whenever and wherever it’s convenient for you.

Direct Entry

- Satisfy the O’Level requirements and have another BSc irrespective of the course of study and grade.
- Satisfy the O’Level requirements and have a professional certification such as ICAN, NIM, CITN, CIPM, CIBN, ACA etc.
- Masters degree holders in related courses will be admitted into 300 Level while others will be admitted into 200 Level.
- All OND/ HND Candidates will be admitted into 200 Level
B.Sc Public Administration

- Satisfy the O’Level requirements and have a professional certification such as ICAN, NIM, CITN, CIPM, CIBN, ACA etc.

BNSc. Nursing Science

Direct Entry
- Registered Nurse Certificate (with Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria)
- 5 O’Level credits including Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than two sittings.
Successful applicants are required to present their annual license at the point of screening, and those who haven’t renewed their license have to show evidence of payment for the renewal when coming for screening. ABU will also require applicants to pay 5,000 for verification of their license with the nursing association.
