Official JAMB Admission Guideline For 2016/2017 Released

The official guideline to be used for 2016/2017 admission into Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria has been released. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB released the official admission guideline to guide institutions and to also clear air on the rumours already making rounds.

You would recall that several media outlets (including this), reported that a point system will be used for 2016/2017 admission into tertiary institutions. The management of JAMB has debunked this, claiming that the point system was just demonstration of how some schools conducted admission in the past. This is to be discontinued to follow the admission guidelines recognized by law.

JAMB Admission Guideline 2016/2017: How Admission Must Be Conducted By Schools

The 2016/2017 admission into Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges in Nigeria purely on the three existing admission pillars. These are merit, catchment area (see list of Universities and their catchment areas) and educationally less developed states. The admission process will follow the following steps;
