Covenant University students got job tips from Sahara Energy Field Limited.

A staff of the company, Mr Matthew Olabode gave this charge at the Town and Gown Seminar of the Department of Petroleum Engineering held recently at the CU campus in Ota, Ogun State on job tip hunting success.

Prospective graduates of Petroleum Engineering of Covenant University got tipped to strive to earn good grades for themselves at the point of exit from the University as this will give them a relative advantage in a competitive labor market.

Delivering his lecture on the topic of the seminar titled, ‘Exploration and Production Value Chain: Overview from Oil and Gas Industry perspective,’ Mr Matthew Olabode, who was the Guest Speaker, enlightened the students on the different sectors that make up the oil and gas industry, which he listed as the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream sectors.

He talked on issues concerning exploration and production segmentation in oil and gas industry;field development plan;human resources/ employment talks, then an overview of the Sahara group.

He then advised students to focus on graduating with good degrees, stating that it was easier to get good jobs in the country and abroad.

He dwelt largely on issues concerning exploration and production segmentation in oil and gas industry; exploration process workflow; field development plan; human resources/career talk; current trends and overview of Sahara Group.
