FUNAAB Students Protest Increased Robbery Incidents

Information reaching ScholarsAfrik has it that students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) are currently protesting what they call increate rate of robbery of students’ hostels. A report that got to us last night has it that a hostel was robbed in Isolu area of the University community.

Some students of FUNAAB have now taken it upon themselves to show their grievances and perhaps call the attention of the school authorities to beef up security in the area. So far, the hostels affected are hostels located outside the university premises and are privately owned.

FUNAAB Students Protest Increased Cases of Robbery At Isolu

Details of the protest are still sketchy at the moment but pictures sent in by a student of FUNAAB shows a group of students burning woods and tyres on a road. The protest in this picture is currently going on at Iyana-Cele Bus Stop at Isolu. Isolu is a community along CAMP-FUNAAB road.

We will feed you with more details as we get them later.
