The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has approved the 100% increase of NYSC members state allowance. This was confirmed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Kenneth Kobani in an interview with News Agency Of Nigeria. The Allowance was increased from Five thousand Naira (N5,000) to Ten thousand Naira (N10,000).
According to him, the corps members will soon start receiving the new allowance.
“The allowances of the corps members have been increased, and Gov. Nyesom Wike has approved the increment. “I have discussed it with the NYSC State Coordinator. They will get the funds shortly, the governor has approved it,” he said.
He equally stated that the state government will continue to support NYSC in providing facilities at the permanent orientation camp located at Nonwa Gbam, Tai Local government area of the state.
