UniPort Institute of Petroleum Studies PGD Admission 2016/17

UNIPORT Institute of Petroleum Studies Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Technology admission application for 2016/2017 has started. Application forms can now be filled and submitted to apply for admission. Interested and suitably qualified members of the public are hereby invited by the University of Port Harcourt IPS to apply for the PGD programme in Petroleum Technology.

The Institute of Petroleum Studies (IPS) offers programmes for sustainable development of the petroleum industry. The Institute provides a conducive learning environment, full Internet access, virtual library and hands-on training using one computer per student.

Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Technology (PGDPT) Programme

Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Technology Programme sponsored by oil and gas producing/operating companies is to improve the technical competence and skills of graduates from the communities in which they operate to make them effective and competitive for recruitment in the petroleum industry. It is designed for sustainable development of oil and gas producing communities.

Admission Requirements For The IPS UNIPORT PGD In Petroleum Technology – 2016/2017

Candidates seeking admission into the Petroleum Technology PGD programme at UNIPORT must possess a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) honours bachelor’s degree, in any branch of Engineering or the physical/chemical sciences and should have completed their NYSC.

How to Apply For IPS UNIPORT Admission For 2016/17

Interested persons canapply for 2016/2017 UNIPORT Institute of Petroleum Studies Postgraduate Diploma Admission in Petroleum Technology online at www.ipsng.org/apply. A non-refundable fee of Fifteen Thousand Naira (₦15, 000) will be required to be paid on line to start the application procedure.

Closing Date For Application & Submission of the UNIPORT PGD Petroleum Technology Admission Form?

Completed hard copy of application forms must be returned to The Director, Institute of Petroleum Studies, University of Port Harcourt, East West Road, PMB 2, UniPort Post Office, Choba, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, West Africa on or before Friday, 15th July, 2016.

Mode of Study and Examination

The Mode of Study for the IPD UNIPORT PGD shall be Modular and not Semester. Students are expected to offer and pass all taught courses, field/Laboratory work/visits, Seminar and Team/individual industrial projects. Weekly examinations will be administered.

Course Delivery

The students are taught by lecturers from the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Nigeria, and experts from the petroleum industry both in Nigeria and abroad.

Duration: The duration of the programme shall be twelve (12) calendar months of intensive full time study.

Award of Diploma: Successful students at the end of the programme shall receive a Diploma of the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Professional Certification: Students will be presented for Associate Environmental Practitioners (AEP) Certification (NREP, USA), Safety Certification (NISP, Nigeria) and Computer Competence Certifications.

UNIPORT Institute of Petroleum Studies PGD Petroleum Technology Examination Dates – 2016

The admission examination for the UNIPORT IPS Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Technology will be in two stages. Thee will be an aptitude test and an oral interview. The tests have been schedule as follows;
