UNIJOS Suspends 3-Month Old ASUU Strike

UNIJOS ASUU strike has finally been suspended. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, University of Jos chapter has suspended its three-month old strike. The industial action was embarked upon by the teachers since October 2015.

Principal Assistant Registrar, Unijos, Mr Abdullahi Abdullahi made this development known to the public on Facebook. He also promised to share more details in the coming days.

Below is the one-line message released;

ASUU Unijos Suspends Strike Action. Details later.

All students of the University of Jos are hereby notified of this development. All students who have been offered provisional admission and those still expecting their names on the admission lists are to prepare for resumption too.

You would recall that the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Mr. Solomon Dalung, had intervened to bring an end to the strike action. The intervention came on the heels of the inability of the university authorities and the lecturers to resolve the issues.
