UNILAG Announces Resumption Date After Students’ Protest

The Management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) announces resumption date after it was closed as a result of students’ protest.

We recall that the University of Lagos, UNILAG had shut down after student protested against what they called water shortage and epileptic electricity. The student staged a protest to show their grievances to the management of the University on these issues. The management of the University of Lagos, then ordered the immediate closure of the institution, but are now due to resume with compulsory terms and conditions.

UNILAG To Resume Academic Activities

 This is the aftermath of the protest which crippled academic activities on the 7th of April, 2016, which made the University Senate hold an emergency meeting on Friday, April 22, 2016 and has directed that full academic activities should resume on Monday, May 2, 2016. In preparation for the resumption, students are expected to adhere strictly to the following guidelines:

Examination commences on Monday, May 9, 2016. Students are to confirm their examination time-table from the various Faculties/Departments. Students are advised to prepare adequately well for the forthcoming examinations, any student caught  in Examination malpractice would face the music which could be expulsion.
