The University of Uyo,UNIUYO has set its resumption date for the 2016/2017 academic session. Newly admitted students and returning students should take note as the activities of the first semester would begin. The management have agreed on the resumption date scheduled for the first semester of the 2016/2017 academic session.

After its 98th Meeting held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, the senate has approved the commencement of the new academic session on Monday, October 03, 2016.
- Monday, October 10, 2016 – Lectures for 1st semester begins
- Monday, October 31, – Thursday, November 17, 2016 – Registration with penalty of 2,000.00 (Two thousand naira) only
- Thursday, November 17, 2016 – Registration for the first semester closes.
As the registration for the new session draws near students are to ensure they begin their registration process early to avoid delay and any form of distraction.
