JAMB: Your Passport Obtained From NIMC Is Not Valid

The error message – Your Passport Obtained From NIMC Is Not Valid – is one that candidates trying to complete JAMB registration are getting. Scores of students who want to apply for the 2021 JAMB UTME have encountered this error via SMS.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board mandated all JAMB candidates to have NIN. If they don’t have the National Identification Number, they would not be able to register for the UTME. However, this step have proved a stumbling block for many candidates.

NIMC (NIN) Is Not Valid JAMB Error Via Text Message

When candidates text NIN to 55019, they get a return text with the following error:

Your Passport Obtained from NIMC is not Valid.

But first, they get the following message that notified them they would be charged Fifty Naira only (N50.00) for the request:

Your request has been received and is being processed, you will get response shortly. The service will cost you #50.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to provide solutions to affected candidates. We can only direct them to contact JAMB directly.
